Juror’s Statement

It was a pleasure to review the 600+ images for this "Four Seasons" gallery show. Curiously, the most popular season represented was winter and the least popular was spring. There were many very strong black and white images of winter- they could've been a whole separate show- and I had a hard time selecting just a few. There were also many 'alternative processed' images some of which were intriguing and many quite beautiful. The images I selected spoke clearly of a season. I tried to pick both familiar scenes and inventive images, but all had to be beautifully rendered. I like to be surprised when seeing an image, be it an 'old friend' or a 'new acquaintance," but I don't like being disappointed by a technical flaw or a compositional lapse. I hope you enjoy these images, I did, and keep taking pictures!
